I was browsing through the channels on friday night, I stopped at star world channel. And the world famous!!! Best watched!!! Successful running show titled "Baywatch". After long time, I many years (?!!) after I am seeing the show. brought my memory when was in my schooling and college days, where I would watch the show late night with my remote ready in my hand with my finger just in another channel, ready to switch over in case my parents came out of the room, times these were considered taboo, too vulgar and forbidden. Wonder how much it is worth watching, other than the sexual appeal of the show? (I know, I know, what you are asking, "is that not enough"!!) I remember in one of the "friends" show, joe will be watching Baywatch at midnight and chandler will ask, what's in it except babes in most revealing bikinis running around all the time"? and when they watch one of the babes running, he will also sit and watch, and joe will just look at him and grin. So when you have hot babes, sort of sex appeal and any word related to sex in the title, it is enough to run a successful show, unlike the Indian soap-operas where all female counterparts will cry all the time and all the male actors are vicious demons and clever villains doing nothing but bad things to women, hmm.. World is different after all. Now a days these types of programs are taken over by AXN channel with more than half a dozen shows like this (Good for Indian Youth !!!). and one suggestion to the producers of the Baywatch show, why can't they change the title to "Babe Watch"? Won’t it be more appropriate? So as my title justified for this post I think!!!.
This story about a very good, touching film called "I am Sam", Please if you have not watched the film, go get your butt to the next video store and grab a copy of the film and watch or atleast wait for the next retelecast in the HBO and take time to watch. Such a wonderful film. Actually, I am a sort of guy who liked to see kind of hollywood films which has lot of gun powder, bombs and lot of killing, but once in a while, these other types of Hollywood films, which has a good story line, a mild message and a good sentiment also good for your health (doctor recommended?!!!). The kind of films which does not make you weep like Indian mega serials, but will make you feel deep inside your heart in a way you never felt before. This film is about a 8 year old child with a mentally challenged dad who's IQ?!! is of a 7 year old child. Their struggle against the system which separates them from each other. The screenplay was also good with mild comedy which is a tightrope walk for the director. Remembered a similar story where the tamil director took the audience into the mind of mentally retarded child in his one of the best movie "Anjali". Hope these types of movies come from time to time in future.
